    I recently bought a second hand T30.

On connecting the charger the taskbar charger icon changes and the two pronged plug comes up confirming the battery is charging.

However the battery is not charging.

Everything appears to say its charging - including the power managemnt info by clicking on the battery power meter.

Has anyone expeienced this probelm please - what does it indicate....

    Any help gratefully received

It's eight years old. I would suspect the battery is kaput, which is not unusual on a used laptop. If you can find another battery to test it that'd be a good place to start.

I second ZaZ. Your battery is completely toast. Most batteries of that vintage are going south after that long, even if they've been sitting brand new and unused on some shelf somewhere. I have a T30 battery I found at a local used electronic store that had 0 charge cycles on it and was made in '03, and it maybe gives me an hour and a half of charge on my T21. It's degraded to about 75% capacity, and that's after maybe 10 cycles over the past year that I've had it.
