i had a flooding situation today and my ac adapter portion and my outlet plug were on the floor, water was in and around it (not too deep) but my laptop was also plugged in. now my laptop won't charge.

any quick fix? Or should just order a new one (if so, any specifics i should tell lenovo?)

also, could my laptop be the issue and be shorted out instead or is it just the charger?

P.S. will any of these guys work: http://www.frys.com/category/Outpos...+Adapters/Lenovo/?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Dry it out s-l-o-w-l-y. Use the sun and expose the parts. Make minimal time two days. Then after drying it out, try it out and see if if works. If it does - great. If it dosen't, then it's time to reorder.

It's usually used as a fix for cell phones that dropped into water, but you can try burying the AC adapter in some uncooked rice for a day - the rice will soak up any excess moisture in the adapter. If it still doesn't work, then you'll probably have to get a new one.

You just need one that physically fits and is 20v. The 3.25 amps is important too if you're getting a knock off unit.

If you want to look for a non lenovo unit check ebay and check feedback. Being chinese knock offs can be bad...but I ordered a 90watt adapter once to no ill-effects yet after 3/4 of a year.

good news, i got the charger to work. i left it in rice for the night and i plugged in in this morning and the battery charging sign turned on/off like 10 times but then stayed constant. but it does do this almost every time i plug it in.

heres the weird thing, right when i plug it in though it makes this weird buzzing sound (the laptop does). the sound is coming from the laptop on that mesh grill looking thing next to the port for the charger. but it stops after 2 minutes. is this ok?

Isn't this dangerous? Any risk of getting electric shock?
