does the right palm rest of your t400 get significantly hotter than the rest of the other parts? So i was trying to send in my computer to get it checked out and hopefully they would let me return it just becuase I didnt like the computer. but of course they said nothing was wrong with it but there was a clicking noise with flex where the left speaker was. So I had them fix that. I just got my computer back and now the right palm rest has a bit of a squeek and It feels hot all of a sudden. I don't remember the right palm area to be hot at all....

that is where the hdd is. mucho activito and it'll heat up for sure.

you can remove the four screws underneath, remove the palm rest (be careful with the cable), reinsert it to see if it's just crappy assembly.

alternately, simply tightening (not too much) the screw that corresponds to that are did take care of some give my palmrest had.

if you're really curious, one screw and you can remove the corver on the hdd, pull out the drive and push it back in just for kicks, to see if there are any birdnests the tech guys put in, or any fires kindling

I can't feel any difference between the left and right palmrest. Even after intensive defragmentation of the harddrive it does not exceed 36 degrees.
