I was trying to delete the ATI Catalyst Control Center and I deleted my whole ATI driver.

After installing the driver again, I can't use my switchable graphics (Vista, 64 bit). I mean I can't see the button to switch from "Power Saving" to "Performance" after right clicking on the power manager.

Every time I download and install the driver I get asked if I want to replace the files. So that means something is still installed?

    Any idea what's wrong?

Are you able to access the catalyst control center?

On my T400, I never used Lenovo's regular drivers. I always ended up downloading latest versions direct from AMD's website. The drivers themselves now support graphics switching by themselves and you don't have to switch from power saving to high performance via the power manager, since something weird is going on there for you. (I could still do both on my T400- via power manager/ATI drivers).

Try downloading the lastest catalyst drivers from AMD and afterwards, you can right click your desktop and there will be an option that says "configure switchable graphics" and you can switch from there if power manager still doesnt show the switchable cards.

    No. It's weird.

I try installing the CCC using the ATI install manager (downloaded from AMD) but it never actually seems to install anything. I restart and I never see the Red ATI button after right clicking on the desktop.
Should I try deleting all drivers and installing just the newest ATI?

It's weird because I saved the exact drivers I installed year(s) ago, but they dont work?
It's as if the OS isn't recognizing the hardware even though 'switchable' is selected in the BIOS

    Finally got it.
Just uninstalled all video drivers with respective card enabled using BIOS.

Then reinstalled ATI driver without CCC using lenovo driver (filesize: 148,814KB) with discrete card only enabled in BIOS.
Restarted with Switchable enabled, Windows automatically installs Intel Integrated graphics.

and viola, the screen flickers and switchable button is back.
and no more CCC.exe errors since I did custom install and did not choose CCC.
