Yesterday, seemingly "out of nowhere" my wireless adapter just disappeared. I was watching a movie, and when it was over, I noticed I wasn't connected to the internet or any network. In fact it couldn't detect any networks and then I noticed that the computer couldn't detect my wireless adapter at all. Pressing Fn + F5 only displayed the option to turn on/off the bluetooth radio. I couldn't even find it in the Device Manager.

Right before the movie everything was working fine, and I don't remember getting any system error messages. Restarting the computer immediately didn't change anything. So I turned it off for the night. This morning everything worked fine again.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Should I be worried?

    Thanks.

You shouldn't be worried. And yes, stuff like that has been known to happen. Could be some Thinkpad configuration I don't know about, but I wouldn't be worried. :)

Except that he cant coonect to the internet....

I'd remove the device (except he can't find it) and then reinstall it.

You know, I deserve the roll-eyes 'cause I didn't read the last sentence. A "cold-restart" is the first thing you ought to do.

[sarcasm]Oh, and I've never done that. I always remember to read the full OP.[/sarcasm] ;)

Yep, a restart fixes a lot of things.
