Looks fine. What do you plan on doing with your system?
-
'Standard jobs' like Internet surfing, MS Office and programming.
-
that'll be WAY more than enough system for that purpose.
-
^^Agreed. But good luck getting a wxga+ LED system. I called many times and tried several different lenovo sites and could not find that screen anywhere.
-
Same here. I called them yesterday and asked them if it possible to "pre"-order - that when ever they get, they save one for me. They told me that no body knows about it, except the guys who are ordering it from China/Taiwan..., and only after they get it from overseas, do they acknowledge if a part is available or not.
Pretty flaky way to do businessBut it works!
-
i too, am incredibly frustrated by the inability to order a wxga+ led screen on the t400 in the us - especially when it is freely available through lenovo canada. !!!!!
i've been waiting, literally, for weeks and weeks to order my t400 but this option never shows up, and lenovo isn't doing squat about it. obviously the screens are available, as you can order as many as you want if you live in canada, so what gives? -
It is what it is. Getting frustrated about it does nothing to get you one.
-
-
the screen is one of the most important parts of a laptop, i think! -
While I agree, I don't think the LED vs CCFL will be a huge difference. Granted there is a difference, but not great enough to write home about. But then again I could be totally wrong in this assumption.
-
While LEDs do offer a bit better battery life and are brighter, they do not enhance image quality. If you want aThinkPad with good screen, get the X61t, X200t or a used T60 with IPS screen.
-
Why not consider the HP ProBook. It has a LED screen - comes in 14", 15.6" and 17".
-
I am so wondering that why Lenovo do not offer a WXGA+ LED screen on T400 on their website!
Does anyone know how to order a T400 with the WXGA+ LED screen?
Thanks -
I'm holding out for a WXGA+ high-nit LED screen... do those beasts actually exist? -
Do you think the high-nit LED screen is useful?
-
It is if you often use the laptop outdoors. That said, the new LED screens might be bright enough... dunno yet. The T61 screens are abysmal outdoors.
-
I did order a t400 around a couple weeks ago with a wxga+ led screen from the US site, and I think i am still able to order it
however when it came, it had dead pixel and i sent it back for repair
been a week and a half and i havnt heard back yet -
How did you order a t400 with a wxga+ LED from US site?
-
i had a saved cart of a t400 configured with a wxga+ led and it let me check out

Be happy. In many countries you can't even configure your Thinkpad. If what you want is not on the preconfigured Thinkpads that are offered, you are really out of luck. In some countries you can't even buy certain model numbers. For example, the T500 has never been offered at all here in Taiwan (basically where they are being made (in China I guess)).
And of course no LED screen is available for the T400 here as well.
In order for me to get a T500, I have to import it from another country, which I haven't dared to. And in most countries except the U.S the Thinkpads are very overpriced.
Not to mention I have to witness all U.S customers get good deals because of your coupons, or outlets, which are not available anywhere else it seems.
Sorry for the rant, but I can't even buy the Thinkpad I want... -
This has happened in the past with 6-cell batteries, bluetooth, and integrated webcams. They'd come and go as options depending (apparently) on parts availability.
