    I don't understand!

It used to only allow us select up to 3 gigs. Now we can select 4 gigs... for an additional $105. But people were calling to place their order and only paying $70 just do add an additional 2gig 1dimm stick to their order (not equiped inside of the computer).

Do you think we could still call in and have the option of adding another 2gig 1dimm ram instead of paying an extra $35 for someone just to unscrew a couple of screws and installing it?

There's currently a 4+ week lead time for the extra 2 gig (calling, dunno about web order).

Wait, are you saying I can order a 2gig stick from Lenovo (at their price rather than store price) and just put it in myself?

Yes, before the "4 gig" was an option there were people on here who had placed their order on the phone and had the sales rep add a 2 gig as an accessory for i'm pretty sure $70. Hopefully one of those peoples will see this post testify it's true.

It is worth considering just getting 2GB of memory (1 sodimm) at this time. I think that if you can wait a month or two that DDR3 memory prices will come crashing down quickly to be more in line with DDR2 memory pricing. It is a supply/demand problem right now. Wait for production and stocks to ramp up. it's not like your notebook will crawl with just 2GB of memory for the next few months. Anyway, this is my plan.

    I second that. Good plan.
