Psh can't survive one wheel from a 26,000lb truck. I won't be buying thinkpads unless I can run over them!!!!

Anyways, I would be interested if they published stress tests for the screens and seeing how much pressure they can take before cracking the screens. Not sure how much weight 1 wheel of a 26,000lb truck is considering the equipment is in the rear (but the engine is up front?).

    So the 400s using a 1,8" hdd, not a 2,5", right?

Yeah, it doesn't look like a standard drive. Especially at that form factor.

I wouldn't put my T400 under those conditions, but it's nice to know how durable this machine it. Exactly why I would pay a premium price -- quality.

What you pay is what you get.

dang that thing looks pretty sleek in the video

now if only it had survived. maybe for next time they should build one that goes head to head with the toughbooks

haha and some good marketing there in the video. do notice that they took the keyboard out to tell you customers out there that this one has got proper backing.

and with the red stripes and the miracle that is a centered screen .. looks like a winner so far

just don't like the battery placement on the bottom, but then I guess nobody really hot swaps batteries even for ones with the battery at the back..

I see marketing. Doesn't mean that it won't be a great laptop, but I don't think the T400s is the only model on the market that would end up with salvageable RAM and hard drive - which was really the end result. Bonus points for the keyboard surviving too, I suppose.

yea. the harddrive surviving wasnt that big of a stretch.

toughbooks can survive regular hummer driveovers.

You have to compare an apple to an apple, though - Toughbooks are advertised as rugged notebooks, whereas Thinkpads are not. There's a reason why Toughbooks are twice as thick as some Thinkpads ;)

plus most of them are kinda ugly.

but im saying thinkpads wont be losing nothing but gaining if they made something as tough.

Nobody is really doubting that, hah. It is just more so we can see more pictures/video of the laptop itself.
