    Hello all !

    I'm in trouble ! I have a t410s + 160 ssd ;
    I bought an ultrabay on ebay (1) + a 500GB Hitachi 2.5" SATA Hard Disk Drive (5400rpm, 8MB cache)

    Just plug and play isn'it ?
    I plugged, I cant make it work ; the new hdd doesnt exist in Windows 7 (not shown in explorer, only 2 partitions on sdd are shown) ; the ultrabay's blue led lights on while startup, then not more, just a sighty, no activity.

    In bios (f1), I see my hard drive listed (startup menu) ;
    This drive is listed too in the remove safely box ;
    And, first, when I plug the bay+hdd in, Windows says he will power the thing.

    By the way, my ultrabay doesnt have the little plastic thing highlighted there (what's this ??) :

    Thank you.

    1. Start | right click Computer
    2. Select Manage
    3. From the Management app, expand Storage
    4. Click Disk Management

    Or you can do a Start | enter Disk Management and hit enter.

    Do you see the drive there? If so, you just need to initialize it, create a partition, format it, and assign a drive letter.

    Hi Thors !

    Yes, yes, I guess you are right, I'll confirm in a moment ; thank you very much for your help.
    Ahaha, I'm sorry, I've been like a dumb :confused:

    Hum, is there a good (or bad) choice for what letter to assign this new drive ? (I may use the dvd sometimes and an external hdd too) and can not anticipate if there is smarter choice or not.

    this little tab thing that you highlighted in yellow prevents these drive to be be plugged into the old T60/T61 machines which uses the PATA connector rather than the SATA connector.
