    Hi

I tried connecting my u2711 to my t410s laptop, but the resolution is capped at 1680x1050.
The monitor is connected with a dvi cable and a displayport to dvi adapter.

The dvi cable should be fine since i've used it at 2560x1440 resolution with a w500(RIP) for over a year without a problem.

    Hope someone can help.

I had no problem driving my U2711 at 2560x1440 with my T410S. I was using a direct DisplayPort coming off the dock. The T410S I had was an Optimus model.

The one i have is with Intel HD Graphics, and i dont have a dock for it. I usually connect a w500 to the monitor but it died this morning.

I think the max for DVI is 1920x1200.

The dvi cable works with higher resolutions, i've used it at 2560x1440 resolution for over a year.

I don't know about your personal usage, but that's what the specs say.

Anything larger than 1920x1200 needs Dual-Link DVI, yet according to tabook, Intel HD3000 has merely " DisplayPort (supports single-link DVI-D via cable 45J7915)"

Direct connection DisplayPort->DisplayPort w/o adapters should work.

I really wanted to avoid buying a diplayport cable since i can only buy it online and have to wait till Monday or Tuesday before getting it.
But i guess i'll have to then.

U2711 and U2709 have DisplayPort->DisplayPort included in the box.

I know, i spend 2 hours looking for it before buying the adapter and then posting here.
I bought the monitor used, so i must have forgotten to get the dp cable with me when i picked it up.
