Has anyone ever had to get their palm rest replaced under warranty?? I just noticed a small hairline crack on mine (near the track pad) and wondering if anyone has been able to get this replaced under warranty.

    Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure it is covered by warranty, you should call Lenovo or chat with one of them online agents to make sure, though.

Did they send you the part, or did you have to send the laptop back to lenovo??

Standard operating procedure is that they send you the replacement part with a pre-paid return label. They like to look at the broken parts for future improvement.

How do they determine that it was factory defect not accidental damage? I'd totally love to ship my screen assembly to them and say it was a defect lol.

i don't think they look at the parts for future improvements, but rather they don't want people claiming new parts when the old parts are actually working. Some of the parts are later refurbished for reuse.

This is a common issue and T410s defect. It happened to my machine.

They will replace it under warranty.
