For anyone who has recently received a t410s with an ssd, please indicate the make and model of the drive - and whether you know if it supports Trim.

I've read a lot about Trim - any thoughts as to just how important it is over the long term of a ssd system?

    Thanks,
    silvercell

It's important and should be a requirement form the OEMs at this point.

From what i gathered from my search, Lenovo has not implemented TRIM in any of their firmware updates to their drives. Some say the updated firmware from Samsung's site implements TRIM, while the firmware shipped with your drive has Samsung's own NTFS-aware garbage collector when the drive is idle.

Intel 80GB G2 Iteration, supports TRIM

Important, but any SSD upgrade from HDD will be substantial.
