never had this problem on my t400. just got a t420 for christmas and i have the ultimate 6300 card and did a clean install using windows 7 pro 64.
installed windows, got network driver from other comp, copied over, installed file using the installer.
did a reinstall to see if it was how i installed the driver and installed it using device manager instead and same problem.
i have turn off to save power unchecked in the card configuration.

really getting annoying why this is happening. thought access connections would fix the problem but still no go.
did a clean install and same problem. -

1. Make sure that you only have the Intel WiFi driver and not the ProSet software installed. Is your WiFi driver from Lenovo or Intel?
2. Do you have this problem with more than one router?

I had serious connection problems with my x201t and Intel Centrino 6300. The problem was that I had checked "MyFi" and other Intel softwares from the installprocess.
Uninstall all drivers regarding the wireless. Download the drivers from Lenovo and do an default install. -
i do indeed have proset installed. i really only have access to one router, never really anywhere else where i could check.
i got the install file from lenovo but it runs as an installer and installs extra software. -

According to Control Panel's Program & Features I also have Proset installed although I use the Lenovo Access Connections and ProSet never pops up. Closer examination of the ProSet installation (right click on enty, select Change and then select Modify) reveals that I don't have the ProSet connection management installed. If your's is installed then modify the setting.
The other place you can check your settings in under Manage Wireless Networks to make sure that they are selected to connect automatically. You can set this separately under the properties for each wireless connection.

when you install your wifi driver, if you use the one from intel then you need to do custom installation and install two things: the wifi driver, and the ProSet software.
Do not install what comes under the ProSet software however, all those 4 or 5 things there.
if you do not install the ProSet software then there's a chance that your HotKey would not work for turning on and off the wifi. Your wireless would still work due to the driver being installed.
the ProSet connection manager is what pops up the icon in the system tray and lets you select whether you want Windows to manage your wifi settings or Intel. If you dont have it installed then it's from Windows by default.
once you sort out the driver stuff you can look under wifi settings to see if you have the desired networks to connect automatically. If these are on manual then that's your problem. -
hmmm uninstalled the proset software, then did an update driver from device manager and things seem to be working better now, ill give it a week or so to act up again but hopefully it wont.
1, what advantages are there to having the proset installed just not the connection manager that seems to be the problem?
2. why would the connection manager cause a problem, cant imagine anyone wanting to not have auto connect after sleep? -
^
1. I believe I have said why
2. because it will take over windows wifi management. The auto-connect is just a setting on the software that is running your wifi. -
sorry didnt do a good job of wording that question, it was pretty late.
anyway what i meant in the first question is are there any other advantages o using the proset software(without the connection manager so i can still auto connect) other than you listed? -

I don't think the connection manager part of the ProSet package offers any advantages over Lenovo's connection manager.
