    hello,
i bought a t430 to give my dad from a friend and it seems to struggle to boot sometimes. First boot= fan turns on hdd light goes on and blinks and etc. and nothing on screen. I use the power button to kill it. Second boot sometimes the same but eventually turns on properly. I've seen similar behaviour when i was using egpu through mpcie 4 years ago on a same model.

I tried reseating ram, cpu, msata ssd, cmos and also did some power cycle to no solution. Any ideas? I don't think it's the board but some sort of boot sequence timing is fudged i think.

Pull everything out, plug it in and power it on to see if it beeps. If it doesn't beep, it's most likely a defective board. If it does beep, plug stuff back in and hopefully you'll find the culprit.
