    Hi,

I saw on this site for the updated t400 review that Lenovo had fixed the keyboard flex issues that existed in the first batch of t400.

I wanted to know if they did the same keyboard flex fix for the t500 as well?

Or do the t500s still have the same keyboard flex problem?

all T, W, and R series systems in all display sizes have been updated with reinforcement brackets to help mitigate flex.

If you get a keyboard that has all the holes punched out it will flex even with the reinforcements, unless the T-series I ordered last month has been updated since.

It hasn't been updated again recently, however the flex is usually not of issue to users under normal typing conditions.

Some still request a t61 keyboard though with luck.

I only have minor flexing around the Q button when pressing down with excessive force.

Frankly if someone were to type that hard they should have your hands cut off as they clearly shouoldn't be anywhere near a notebook.

Also note I wouldn't have noticed anything if I hadn't come here first before prodding about at it.

    It is all relative...
Yes it has been fixed but some still want to get t61 keyboards which are sturdier yet.

Maybe it has been "fixed" but my 1 month old T400 was still very flexy under normal typing conditions, mainly around the edges. I'm not talking about moderately flexy, it was very flexy.

    Problem, what problem?

I personally don't know what problem there is. They keyboard on my T500 feels fine, typing is easy on them.

However, they are plastic so will bend under pressure. Don't take people's opinions to mean facts as alot of people are really, really picky here.

There is nothing spongy about my keyboard, only that one part sows some flexing under excessive force, no problem though.

Do you have the bracing? It should not be very flexy...unless you are embellishing.

Unless you are stabbing the things like you are using a rusty typewriters perhaps there is something wrong with the keyboard as again, my keyboard which I believe is the same one as the T400(might be wrong) takes a far amoun of downward pressure to move at all, it does move but wwhen typing I wouldn't notice it.

I just don't want potential buyers being needlessly put off by exaggerated reports of this flexing. it lis like with headphones, some people will go on and on about supposed "issues" and will use lots of fancy words when most folks would think they are fine.

I should have the bracing, since mine was manufactured in the end of September 09. I'm not embellishing, it was very noticeable especially around the caps lock key and the backspace key.
