Been waiting for this. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm still wondering why the T500 is not priced with the same discount as the T400 or W500. That seems a bit odd. Been tracking the price of the T500 for the last month and it went down a bit but not to the levels of the T400 and W500.

Lenovo's EPP site is open for a short period (no access code needed) and you can get a better price through there.

If you're not ready to order right now you can create a quote from the cart which would be valid for 30 days.

Saw that post of yours from slickdeals. Thanks. Created a few quotes but does anyone knows if there is a limit to the amount of quotes? He he

I must have created over 20 quotes. No limit as far as I can tell - although when I talked to a rep over the phone, she did remark on my large number of quotes.

Anyway, I noticed that Asus has a 15.4 inch WSXGA+ LED backlit screen. So that type of screen is available now. Now it's just a matter of waiting for Lenovo to incorporate it, if they are planning to do so.

Edit: Oops maybe I spoke too soon. Checking the Asus website seems to reveal that only the WXGA screen is LED lit

I guess it's back to the waiting game :(

Last week I have a chance to compare my T500 LED screen with a CCFL screen on a T400. The conclusion is that my Pannel COMPLETELY BEATS the one in that T400.
However, I donnot know how big the variance of T400 CCFL screens is. Maybe there are some other better CCFL screens on T400.

What's more... I cannot easily find T400 is less weighted than T500... I felt they are almost at the same level in weights. Now I am satisfied with my T500, especially when compared to T400^_^

Thanks. I read a user who created too many quotes till a Lenovo rep called him. But it's good to know that they still allow you to make about 20 quotes. I don't intend to do that of course. =P

Preciate your comparison. Too bad you didn't compare it with an LED lit T400. I'm done with CCFL screens. It died on me and I tried changing it twice but both times I managed to break the CCFL before reassembling the LCD.

I would say wait a bit if you can and see if the LED comes out for the higher res screens like WSXGA+. If it doesn't I would still take a CCFL backlight high res screen over a low res LED screen. 1280x800 is pretty bad for doing work. Only good for one webpage maximized, to play games or watch movies.

I doubt anything higher than WXGA+ will appear.

Even that will be an upgrade since LED is only available in wxga right now.

    wxga ≠ wxga+ (hence the +)
