I want to get a Lenovo Thinkpad t60, yet I'm having some problems on specs.

I would just need it for school: Office, Internet, Photoshop, watching videos,mp3s, etc

Windows XP is just fine, not too excited about Vista just yet.

As for gaming, perhaps something that can run Sim 2 pretty well.

What can you suggest? Would the Core 2 Duo 2 GHz be overkill? I really like the 4 Meg Cache, or would 1.83 be good enough?

I think I would go with 1 gig ram, thinking about getting something better than the Intel 950 graphics.

I want this laptop to last me a couple years and still be pretty able to run what I need.

I was debating over the Dell 1505 vs Lenovo t60, however I'm thinking I'll eventually go for the Lenovo, due to quality, I hope it doesn't disapoint.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll be able to get on the EPP, would anything else be a better deal, than the EPP prices?

1.) I'd get the x1400 if you want to game.
2.) 1.83 C2D will probably be fine--processors are not the limiting factor in most applications anymore.
3.) 1 Gig should be fine for now, i'd get it in a single sodimm if possible, it will be cheaper to add a second gig later ( www.newegg.com)
    4.) The t60 is a great computer ( ;))
5.) I've had both and much prefer the t60 for many reasons (if you have specific questions, feel free to post them here and I will answer to the best of my ability.
6.) if you can swing an educational discount i'd look into it.

    welcome!

Computers just get old. It's what they do. You should be good for a while. The T60 is a fine machine. Can't disagree with what's been said.
