    Guys, I need your advice
I found some reseller in Poland, that have custom build of T60 14" and prices look good - could you tell me what you think?
It's probably a bit more expensive than USA, but it matters only if it's more than 30% (please do not count actuall special offer, that ends on 31st)

    INTEL CORE DUO 2 T7400 - 2.16 GHz
    TFT 14,1" SXGA+ (1400x1050)
    DVD-RW Multi Recorder
    2048 MB DDR2 RAM (probably 2 slots - I don't know yet, but that's pretty common)
    ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 - 128 MB
    100 GB SATA 7200RPM (hitachi HTS721010G9SA00)
VGA-out, 3x USB 2.0, PCMCIA, IrDA, Line Out-In, fingerprint reader
    Modem 56k , LAN 10/100/1000 Mb/s , Wireless LAN Intel 3945 a/b/g,Bluetooth
windows XP (what I actually want)
    6-cell battery
    3 year warranty

    price ~ $2579

I will be very thankful for all the comments!!

I'm mainly a web developer and ocasionally writing some standalone apps. I sometimes play games (more like civ4 than quake). Currently, 90% of my time with a computer is writing code and surfing (well, I don't have a DVD, so I can't watch movies, but I wish I have). I'm running Linux, but with some virtual machines, so I need both powerful CPU and memory (I have 1,5gb ram and athlon 2500 now and it's hardly enough in some cases)

I've been working for 7 years with a standalone desktop PC, but I'm kind of freelancer now, working at home at any time that suits me. That means, I could work at any other place too, but I can't because I have a desktop PC and I'm sticked at home for good.

I want a notebook to replace my current PC (which is already a bit old), but I want an external LCD + keyboard and mouse at home for more comfortable work. Additionally I want to be able to get the notebook and for example visit my parents or friends house and work there for a week or two, or sit in a coffee shop etc. - so I don't need 15,4" as I won't work with it all the time. 14" should fit better the travelling (12" might be too small though, hard to say)

I want to watch films/concerts too (I have an external audio equipment for that purpose of course) + make some communication (voip)

    I think that's it, mostly.

    Thank you

Might want to go with the T7200 (2,0Ghz) to save some money. You wont see a differance even when compiling it wont be noticable. Rest looks good.

Your config costs $2,223.00 with out any sale in the USA. The Sale price right now is $1,667.25 or cheaper since this is the price without using and codes or anything. You will never pay the full price ever.

I would, but that was the only 14" configuration with 2GB of RAM (and they say it's a custom configuration they requested from Lenovo). They have T7200 for $200 less, but with 1 GB of ram, so I guess there's not much difference, If I'd add 1 GB to that cheaper model..

And that bothers me a bit... I have some opportunity to get it from USA through my relatives, but it's not that easy way... I need a good reason to do it :)

You can get the T7200 for $200 less and upgrade the ram yourself. In Germany 2x1GB costs about €75-80 so you safe about $100.

If you order it and have it shiped to your relatives in the USA then you will run into problems shipping it to Poland. They will catch it at the customes and make you pay VAT (sales tax) and maybe even import duty + a service charge on top of that because they went through so much trouble billing you. Only easy way is if you visit the USA or someone flys from the USA to poland and carries the laptop with them.

Yes, I'm aware of customs, but my relatives come here at least once a year and I wanted to ask them to bring that machine with them (they can have it as 'their own', so no customs or vat).

If I'd have got money earlier, I could have asked my mom to get the machine with her, because she's coming back from USA on June 8th. I guess she won't manage to get the machine before 8th though...

This figure is correct with 1-year warranty, 3-year will be extra $119 and also sales tax on top of that, could be anywhere 6 to 9%, that comes close to $2000.
