    Hello everyone!

First off, I have read/reviewed an awful lot of post's here, and find them to be very informative. I currently do not have a notebook, but right now I am in the pos to buy one, and have been wanting one for a few years. After narrowing down what I'd be using it for [ "at least most of the time" ] I'm leaning toward the ThinkPad "T60P" wide screen.
What I like to do or have interests in are as follows: 3D Modeling/rendering, Video Editing, Image editing/paint, Web browsing & perhaps some gaming. This wouldn't be my primary pc, as I have a couple of desktops, of which are used for all of the above reasons. Thought it would be nice to be somewhat mobile.
In reality, I would prob use it more for image editing & web, movies and such. Which brings up a couple of concerns: I've read that the samsung lcd's are questionable. Why? could you please shed some light on this?. What i liked about the "ThankPads" is there build quality and "matte" finish lcd's, & personally love the look of all "Black".
I chose the t60p wide for the optimized "cad" Vcard, & understand its not a gamer's card, & Lenovo appears to have one heck of a sale on right now. System specs i chose are:

Also was looking at HP Compaq nw9440 17", Bigger, nvidia card, and more money [optimized cad] but not as mobile. They to are on sale, but when config'd "apples to apples" price was like 2349.00+ 1 gig ram, 100g 7200 hdd cost. nice thing it has 1394 port which i need. How do thank this will perform to my expectations?. Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated!. Thanks in advance!.

Well in my honest opinion it depends really upon your lifestyle and habits. If you are constantly on the go, you probably will want something portable like the T60p. The T60p's durability and quality is also something to consider. While HP's nw9440 is also of rather high build quality compared to their consumer line (dv series), the 17 is designed for those that do not move around as much. Yes, the bigger screen probably will be better, but that nVidia card I am unsure as to how well it will perform in your daily tasks. They are both great machines, its just that you are comparing a 15.4" to a 17"... and again that depends upon your personal preferences and how "much" you move around in your work.

Like I said, if you move around a lot, get the T60p. Otherwise, I would probably lean to the 17. I personally love my T60 though ;)
