My university has a deal with Lenovo where I can get a Thinkpad t60p for $1,805.00(pre-tax and shipping). The specs are as follows:

I am not very experienced with notebooks, so I want to know your opinion. Is a t60p better than a t61? also, if I ordered a t61, I would need it to be on my doorstep before august 26ish. What do you guys think?

thats a t2600 core duo on the t60p
you can get a t7400 core 2 duo t60p on lenovo's site configured the same way for about the same price.
it appears you get a little more out of the t61. The only reason to go with the t60p is if you are an engineering student or maybe in some graphics type field. Its not any better for gaming.
t60p or t61
