    first post hello bill here 22 from massachusetts

    i have a bit of a problem and i am a newb when it comes to computer tech so i need help

    i have a t60p and it was booting and starting up all the way to my desktop and f i were to move my mouse within the first few minutes the hd would stop the light was off and everything froze and i would have to reset and i could only play arund for a few seconds before it froze and then my mother got her hands on it and started playing in bios and now it goes to the windows loading bar scrools once and then i get the blue screen saying that i may have a virus and that my comp will be reset to save other components and it suggests using thinkvantage to fix it but i am lost and i have no manuals for this i got it second hand two years ago and nothing like this has happen and i am running the hard drive diagnostic right now to see what it says but i would really appreciate any help i could get. thanyou :confused:

    does it do this under windows safe mode?

    So you don't have the recovery partition on your hdd?

    well good news i pased hdd test
    only thing i can get is my startup interrupt menu

    and nothing happens when i click safe mode when i should have files scrolling its just blank

    then most likely the window os file is corrupted.

    Try obtaining a stock XP/Vista/7 Whatever OS you use recovery CD, boot with the CD pressing F12 at startup, and follow through like you would a normal install, then select an option to repair your installation, should fix it if just files are corrupt.
