The fan on my t61 is constantly running. The laptop is not hot. My processor is running at 20c. NVS140 is running at 52c!?!? Recommendations? Laptop is brand new (outlet, but redistributed model). I have the latest driver for the NVS140 off of the lenovo site.

Redistributed means it was delivered but sent back, so you could have a tweaked laptop on your hands, check out your BIOS.

Some people make their fan run constantly.

sounds like a hardware issue. there is no way your cpu is running at 20c (unless you are using a super cooling method)

    20c is basically stp

52c for the nvidia sounds normal

Redistributed means it hasn't been at all: the seal wasn't broken on the box. The instant the seal is broken it has to be sold as refurbished.

The temp on the GPU seems normal though, it's not unusual for mobile GPUs to hit 80c under heavy load.

What tasks are you performing when you look at this stuff?
