I recently reformatted to server 2008, and i occasionally noticed this problem in vista home premium.

the brightness stays on the lowest setting after i come back from sleep/hibernate. Is there some driver I'm missing? I haven't gotten system update to work so i'm pretty bare on drivers. thanks

Try the latest BIOS from Lenovo and/or update the video driver.

If I remember correctly, this happened to me, too. Updating the video driver should fix it.

This odd problem also happens to my ThinkPad T400. No matter how brightness percentage I choose in the Power manager, the screen just goes to 100% brightness whenever I wake it up from stand by mode. This is really annoying. Can anybody help me to fix it?

For Vista, in Lenovo Power Manager --> Global Power Settings --> Dynamic Brightness Control, deselect the available options. You must be in Advanced mode, not Basic mode, to do this.
