It's normal if you are doing hard-drive intensive tasks (constant loading, adding/deleting files, etc.) because that is where the hard drive is.

Do you hear hard drive activity? If so, your HD could be indexing or automatically defragmenting.

the hd activity indicator is on or blinking most of the time, is there any way I can decrease how often the computer accesses the HD? I have turbomemory shouldnt that already decrease how often the hd is accessed?

Like I said, your drive is probably either indexing or defragmenting. I suggest opening the defrag program and let your computer sit and defragment. It takes a while, but once it's done, your hard drive will access its files much faster and indexing will also be finished as well, meaning Windows Search will be almost instant. Most importantly, your computer will stop accessing your HD when you don't want it too!!

Maybe you should download something to watch the heat, try this.

There might be a setting in the bios to turn the drive in quiet mode but I don't know much about it. Maybe you can look around in there or someone can tell you.
