Have you made your recovery disks yet?

Do you have a windows 7 upgrade disc or an OEM iso?

Make recovery discs from your vista install at least. If you have to upgrade then obviously you'd need vista installed first.

Yeah, basically create the restore DVD's and then you can install Windows 7. Ofcourse, if you have any personal data backup those files before installiung a new OS.

Going from 32bit to 64bit & vice versa will require a clean install. You might be able to do the optional upgrade which will create a windows.old folder and put your current data in there but will still do a clean install.

If you have an upgrade disc then :
    Go From Vista-32 to Win7x64:

    a. Clean install Vista 32, input product key and Activate
    b. Boot from Win7, Select Custom install (you will be prompted about renaming Windows to Windows.old).
    c. Once in Windows-7, input product key and Activate.

The above was when I didn't quite read this post which has a method on performing a full clean install with an upgrade disc. (haven't tried it though)

Yes. Search for the Clean install guide for Vista in this forum and follow the steps carefully.
