I was watching some movies on my new t61 wide with 1.8ghz santa rosa, 2.5gb RAM and integrated graphics. I was watching some torrented movies, and the first one i saw kept on freezing randomly, and then unfreezing after a while. At first I thought this was because of an incomplete download ( even though it did say 100% finished ) and then when i saw the second video, it did the same thing, also torrented. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem. I haven't watched a non-torrented movie on this yet... So I don't know if it's just a problem with my files or not. But so far i'm 0/3 for freezing with torrented videos.

I also had a similar issue, It appears to be related to readyboost. if you are using readyboost or have the intel turbo memory option, try disabling it. it worked for me.

is the laptop on a steady surface while you are watching these movies? or are they on your lap?
The reason why you are getting the freezing is because the active protection system is parking the head when it senses a small shake. I set my sensitivity to medium or temporarily shut off the APS while i'm watching a movie. -
i hope you get caught

i don't have turbo memory or any of that stuff. I was on a flat surface for part of it, and on a flat surface on a plane for the other part. and I didn't say I was torrenting illegally. Torrenting can be legal. I mean a lot of porn isn't copyright protected and stuff. You can torrent porn legally, as long as you're 18 or older in some jurisdictions.
