    Am I to understand correctly that the remainder of a warranty transfers over to who ever buys a Lenovo if it is still under warranty?

    The warranty follows the machine and not the buyer. The only way you'd to provide paperwork is if there was some dispute as to its status. For example, if someone sold it as new, but it was really refurbished.
