I'm almost positive the quadro 570m is sufficient enough to run it smoothly on medium texture/rendering settings with draw distance of 10 and res of 1024x768.....except i get the awful stuttering syndrome 5min into every game i load.

Have already tried the tweaks, updates, and driver update to no success...)=

I can run GTA IV quite well on my T500. The game runs smoothly and there is no stuttering at all. When its raining the framerate might drop a little, but otherwise there are no problems. But for me it does not allow the 1024x768 resolution, due to video memory contraints (256Mb). I know you can remove the contraints but I did not want to play with them.

Maybe you should try 800x600 resolution? I have read that when using a bigger resolution the game also reserves more video memory for some operations (like water reflections, etc). When the game is using too much display memory your graphics resources are backed by system RAM and I guess the stuttering comes when your system tries to fit everything into video memory but it cannot do it, so it is constantly loading and unloading things from display memory.

What is your Windows Experience Index by the way?

What nVidia drivers are you currently running?
It played fine on my T61p on the same game specs, mind you I slightly OC'd my card w/ RivaTuner.

This is all from memory since I havn't booted Windows in over a month; but I believe I was running the 177.89 drivers, overclocked very modestly with RivaTuner. As for GTAIV settings; I believe I was running at least 1024x768 on medium graphic settings. Temps never got to 90, I think they were usually around 80-86 max.

    Using XP

maybe you have 4gb of ram vs my 2gb? regardless...we both have the same gpu w/ 256mb vram except for your slight oc..

the temp rises quite high for my liking...no other game does this to my laptop

I run the game pretty smoothly with my t61p not OC. 1440X900 and draw distance = 9. Maybe the T9300 makes the difference after all ;)

Can I get your temperature readings when you're gpu/cpu is underload while playing gta4? I'me trying to compare the your max temp with mine and find a stable range to aim for. My t7500 is a 65nm die..while your t9300 is a 45nm die. I'm guessing that keeps thing very cool for you....

I might undervolt to keep things cooler as well.

System index is 4.8...which comes from the lowest score for my RAM

As stated above, I have already tried multiple drivers to no effect.

    problem RESOLVED

I had to open up the laptop and redistribute thermal paste over cpu/gpu. Also cleared out any internal dust.
