I did a search for this and didn't come up with any definitive answers. What kind of battery life are you T61p users getting? My previous company Z61m (XP Pro, T7600, 2GB, 120GB 5400, 15.4 WSXGA+, ATI x1400), which I got to keep when I left :), gets ~4 hours on a 9 cell, while my new company T61 (XP Pro, T7250, 2GB, 160GB 5400 FDE, 15.4 WSXGA, Intel 3100) gets about 8-10 hours on the same battery! We are thinking about purchasing T61p's (XP Pro, T7500, 3GB, 200GB 7200 FDE HDD, 15.4 WSXGA+, 570m) for the IT dept but I don't want to end up with horrible battery life. So, T61p users please let me know what your specs and battery lives are. :D

Do you know what size of battery you will be getting? I have the 9 cell on mine and I get 2.5 hours on the brightest screen settings. I have gotten close to 4 hours when I had the screen dimmed.

We would be using the 9 cell.

I have a 9 cell with a media bay battery and the meter usually states 6.5 hours. I've only run it for about 3 hours and the meter has stated I've had 3 hours remaining after that. At that point the media bay battery is drained and the main battery is around 70 percent. I run with the screen on setting 7 out of 15 and all the other power savings features turned up.

    Edit:
Opps, sorry, specs are T61P, T7300, 2 gigs ram, 7200rpm 160gig hard drive.

    Further edit:
The Lenovo power manager usually says I'm consuming about 16-20 watts on battery. Don't know if that'll help you compare.
