I used to play TF2 but stopped since the notebook started shutting off. Now whenever i set the power mode to maximum power, the laptop would ilde at 90 degrees C (194 degrees F) and dear god I dont want to know at Full Load. On optimised power saving it idles at 80 degrees C (174 degrees F). I've tried physically blowing and using the air compressor and Fan to no avail. Should I send it back to lenovo before it kills the cpu?

Oh, has anyone ever dealt with lenovo tech?

80 degrees at idle?! thats really high, my T61 idles at 43 degrees C. Did you attempt to overclock or undervolt? If not you should contact lenovo.

lenovo tech support has been real good to me.

You should probably let lenovo take care of it if you are still under warranty. 90c at idle is almost double what it should be at. Infact mobile core2duo's are rated up to 100C.

either the fan is dead, the heatsink is not making good contact or you got a bad cpu. let them take care of it. Turn around time is usually about 5 to 7 days. shipping is free, fast and they will ship you a box

    Thanks for your replies.

Nope, I have not tampered with the bios or any of the fan or voltage settings. 5 to 7 days, thats a relief! I was afraid I might end up like my friend who waited 1 1/2 month for his xps to return.
