I bought a Thinkpad T61p a month ago and it broke down due to registry corruption.
I need to re-install everything but I don't have my recovery CD, I mean the Windows CD.
It didn't come with the laptop, only Microsoft Office CD came along.
What is even worse is that Lenovo's customer service doesn't seem like to take care of these kind of problem.
So my question is, what can I do about it?
the OS was Vista Home, but now I like to use XP professional.

if you still have your recovery partition inside your HD, i would suggest you read the manual and try to figure out how to use the blue thinkpad button to restore your laptop to factory condition.
as for the question about changing the OS, there's nothing else that you can do aside from buying new one, because i dont think that lenovo would let you buy the recovery / downgrade cd for XP if your os happen to be basic Vista -
How did you get XP Professional on there in the first place?
-
o no, I didn't get xp professional, I was saying that now I would rather use xp over vista after this "disaster" happened.
and I thank you so much bung. -
no problem, if you are thinking about doing a clean install of xp on your t61p just make sure that to actually refers back to "clean install thread" in this forum. it pretty much guide you throughout the entire process
