    i have a t61p (6457-cto) for about a year now

i just bought an ocz core series ssd. when i insert it into the laptop i get "error 2100, initialization..." I also updated my bios to the most recent july 08 version.; still getting the error. I then threw the ssd in my desktop to make sure it worked and was able to get xp installed on it flawlessly. then took the ssd and put it back into my t61, still get the error. any help would be much appreciated, thanks

Probably some kind of incompatibility problem with the harddrive controller?

turn off the ACHI (or whatever is called) controller off in your bios. Find it in the HDD section somewhere (too lazy to enter in my bios and tell you where it is, lol)

    Same problem here.

    t61p, oczssd2-2c80g and 2100 error.

I've updated bios to version 7LETC1WW and changed to SATA Compatible mode in BIOS, I still get the error on boot, i.e. I can't use the drive.

    Hello everyone.
Had the same problem Yesterday. Tried several times without luck. Then I read another thread on the Internet regarding this. It stated that there is a little inconsistency between the SSD SATA plug and the recieving plug in the laptop. I removed the IBM Disk bezel and put the 2 rubber guards directly on the disk and slipped it in. BEFORE this, I have put the SSD in an external USB HD Case and via Windows Diskmanager, deleted the partition on the drive. After putting it back in as described above it WORKED :)))

Please write back if anybody tries this and it works for them

    BR
