t61p widescreen

I've been searching/reading all the rumors and speculations for t61p specs, but still can't figure out.

Do most of you think it's very likely that they will have a 14.1 widescreen for t61p? Would that weigh about the same as t61?

I ask b/c I'm about to order the t61 14.1 ws, and the only thing that's making me hesitate is if t61p comes out in a few days or this month with a better video card and 14.1 ws, etc. The extra few hundred isn't that much of an issue for me.

Personally, I want a 14.1" widescreen t61p.

 

You may want to consider putting your order through now with a T61 14" WS.

If the T61p 14" widescreen never comes out, you will now be ahead of the line by at least 2-3 weeks.

If the T61p 14"widescreen DOES come out, you have at least a safe window of 2-3 weeks between ordering now and them getting anywhere NEAR your order.

 

hmm, that's a very good idea, what's lenovo's restrictions on canceled orders?

 

I know it's been a while since this thread was out, but I was just about to make a thread asking the exact same thing so I figured I'd just post here instead.

Currently the t61p is offered in 14.1" standard (I.e. not widescreen) and 15.4" widescreen.

The very similar (minus the upgraded graphics) t61 series does offer the 14.1" widescreen.

Do you think it likely they'll update the t61p line? I personally have hope that it might happen when they begin shipping Thinkpad T-series with the new penryn processors, but I don't have much experience with Lenovo or notebook trends in general.

What do you all think, is it worth hoping for?

 

I'm sure around midyear this year there will be a refresh of the ThinkPad line.
