Hi I found some old r61's at a relatives company just sitting collecting dust. I'm putting them together to donate to a school science tech program. They have had the hard drives removed which I understand but the wireless cards are missing too. No big deal, as I have some an old t61 or 2 wifi card laying around. I put it in and nothing. The wifi doesn't seem to be detected. Windows device manager does not see the card. I've checked the bios and wifi is enabled.

Try booting a "live" Linux CD and report back...if the wireless is not working there, there's a hardware issue somewhere.

Also make sure the Wireless Switch is on too as it does catch a few people out.
