    i have a thinkpad 600 from 30000BC and i have a small problem w/ it.

the screen and the main board must have gotten broken somewhere. the screen cannot hold it self up when it is bent more then around 100 degrees. the 2 connectors are still attached looking normally but just doenst hold up. not sure how to open up the laptop either so i dont want to break it. plz tell me how this problem can be fixed.

    thank you

You'll probably need to either tighten the hinge screws where they mount to the notebook, or if the problem is internal to the hinges, you may need to purchase some replacement hinges.

Ebay is the best place to get replacement hinges for a reasonable price on a lot of notebooks. You'll probably need a philips screwdriver to detach the display from the bottom of the notebook, and either a small, flat-bladed screwdriver or hobby knife to open the top display bezel, and possibly detatch the display cable from the notebook and the hinges from the sides of the LCD display. In any case, Google to see if you can find the notebook service repair manual to show you exactly how, or just Google for replacing the hinges; you may find someone who has already done this and put the instructions out there to help.

I've done hinge replacements before. Some are easier than others. If you are not of technical bent, better that someone do it for you.
