I'm just curious- those of you who bought an x1 (esp early adopters), did you keep it, and are you still happy?
If not, what did you/will you replace it with?
-
i got it and still use it. Personally, i think the X220 (which i also have) is a better machine, as it have:
-Better battery life. 9 cells on X220 can do 10 hours, same power usage on the X1 gives only 4 hours if you are lucky.
-Better screen viewing angle (on the IPS model)
-Better keyboard/trackpoint
-More upgradable -> 2 ram slots, docking connector, removable battery, etc. -

If the real question is whether you should buy a X1 right now, I'd say the answer is clearly NO unless you get a machine for dirt cheap.
There will be a successor to the X1. Lenovo hasn't announced the exact model lineup and specs for the coming Ivy Bridge based ThinkPads, but if you don't really need a machine right now you should wait.
It's pretty clear there will be a thin ThinkPad with a better screen than what you'll find on the current X1. If the coming chiclet keyboards are backlit then that will be a plus.
Patience is probably going to be required. -
I already have one actually (got one for cheap in dec to replace a dead machine) and I like it for my needs. I am just curious, as I can't seem to stop shopping/looking- while I usually keep computers for ~ 4 years.
thinkpad X1 early adopters- did you keep it?
