    Hey guys,

Is my battery nearly dead? The gauge will drop instantly from about 50% to 5%, this happens in both ubuntu and win7. I have performed a battery gauge reset in the power manager but it's the same result. I don't have another t500 to test the battery on.

its a 6 cell from a t500, sony?, about 2.5 years old, battery was moderately used, usually removed on a/c power, 70-97% thresholds for charging. Time to get a new battery? If so, I'm pretty disappointed in lenovo.

How many cycles does the battery have and what is its current wear level? If you're using Windows you can use the Power Manager to find out your battery information, you can calculate the wear level by doing 100 - ([Full Charge Capacity/Design Capacity]*100).

    do another gauge reset.

on one of my T61 laptops I had to do it twice to fix up the gauge.
