I've been having trouble with the thinkpad manager, uninstalled it as of now, but it stopped using battery thresholds (charges past the set threshold), it sometimes in to low performance when i have it on max performance, and battery drains completely in hibernate, this is after i updated bios, but i needed to update bios. anyone experience similar problems before? or is there an alternative program to underclock the processor and set thresholds?

What OS are you running, and what ThinkPad are we discussing here?

Interesting. I've never encountered an issue with PM within W7, and the Power Manager is officially supported by Lenovo for that OS, unlike W8.

I don't own a T430 so obviously YMMV but I'm tempted to say that your experience was a result of a glitch of some kind.

You may want to try re-installing it if you find yourself missing some of its features...

    Good luck.

What bios did you upgrade to and why was it necessary to upgrade it?

Was the bios downloaded from Lenovo and did the upgrade resolve your original issue?

Depending on the above answers, I would try downloading the latest bios version from Lenovo, reset all bios options to factory default before flashing it again.

Also perform what Ajkula66 suggested, re-install Power Manager, make sure you download the latest version of PM before re-installing it.
