I already contacted IBM/Lenovo because of their simple cut off list of all 10^x possible configuration combinations of Thinkpads on their website. This makes me crazy. Do you have recommendations for a good online configuration to see possible purchase options and not only which harddrive to choose? Even the shops/partners (at least in germany) use the silly list of selected models. It is a mess.

    Thanks for suggestions
    Thomas

Additional question: Is there a text list of all possible Thinkpad configurations in a CSV file?

it really depends on what you want to use the laptop for. tell us what you want to do with it and we will make a recc. accordingly.

I can tell you this much though, purchase the best screen you can afford and buy as little ram as possible as it is much cheaper to install it on your own.
