roughly half the time I boot up my thinkpad, the finger scan page displays "please wait" and just stays there, I have to logging using password.

    anyone else have this problem?

Is this during the BIOS, or windows login?

Do you have the latest BIOS or fingerprint software installed?

I have the exact same problem with my T500. I think it started appearing with the latest version of the fingerprint software, but I am not 100% sure I did not have it beforehand. I just reinstalled Windows, and it still did it - although not as often as before.

darkwish, it is at the Windows logon screen. And with the latest fingerprint software, yes :)

When this issue occurs, you have to login using your password, just like warakawa says. You also cannot access fingerprint properties in Windows, because at least for me the software will not start properly, gets stuck, freezes, etc.

during the login stage, where you can either type in password or scan you finger to get into windows...

I usually only happen after I wake my notebook from sleep.
