ok i know this question has been thrown around alot and ive been looking all over for a straight answer to this. i was on these forums a while back when i ordered my thinkpad and its still working great now. i just ordered some motorola bluetooth headphones on ebay. they were a good price and i thought they would work great with my thinkpad and some other stuff i use. anyways ive been checking out more about a2dp and found out that vista doesnt support this bluetooth profile. i cant seem to find any good info on whether or not the built in bluetooth on my thinkpad supports stereo bluetooth. i would really like to know if there is anyone on here that uses bluetooth headphones as i cant stand regular wired once anymore and the ones i have hurt my ears quick. i will recieve the headphones in a few days so i just want to know what im facing when i get them. ive downloaded the newest Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software for Windows Vista software (Version:6.0.1.4900 Release Date:2007/08/28) i really would like to be able to use these without having to screw around more with drivers or other bluetooth software.

my motorola s9 bluetooth headphones connected right away to my thinkpad R61i with no problems. i do not know if it actually uses the AD2P profile, but connected to the notebook it just shows connected to the "audio gateway service" . I do have the options for selecting [Audio Sink, Handsfree Telephony,Headset,Remote Control ] services under the properties in the bluetooth devices section. Turn them on, syncs up automatically, and i'm listening to sweet music. I am happy with the quality of sound from them and probably get a range of about 20-25ft before they start dropping out. try to stay within site of the laptop as walls do affect range. my experience so far with these as i've been using them for 2 months now is that they need to be connected to the bluetooth first before opening whatever application you will be using them with.
As this is my first reply i have been prowling this and other forums for as much information as i could before purchasing my R61i, and have been a happy owner ever-since. Thanks NotebookReview!!!!

I initially had an issue with a2dp and my motorola S9 headphones......i reinstalled vista(ultimate) and it connected just fine. you have to make sure you install the audiosink option and you have to manually goto sound properties and setup the headphones as default in order to get them to work....its a little bit of a PITA, but it most definitely does work.
