As long as it takes - and that depends on the size of your battery.

I didn't wanna open a new thread so i am posting here!

I own a lenovo thinkpad T61. I bought it a few days ago from a friend of mine!
The issue is the the charging time is so little, about 30 minutes to charge a 9-cell battery!(whilst i have the laptop switched off)
Is that normal?.. cause i think it's really not!..

That's not normal if your battery is starting from low. Check your charging capacity and info in power manager.

Charge capacity is under Battery Information which is in the Power Manager. Think of it as how much juice it can hold. When something charges fast, it could be a few factors -- it could just have charged very fast (unlikely), the capacity is small so it fills quickly, or the meter is wrong (which you can recalibrate).

How much run time are you getting from your battery?

How can i recalibrate the meter?
If i have the "maximum battery life" mode on it lasts for about 4 hours..

Click on Battery Maintenance and Perform Reset. It'll take several hours.

You should be fine now. Your battery is recalibrated. You won't have to discharge the battery all the way. Everything should be normal now. :)

It'll charge up (unless it already started at 100%), then it'll charge down (as much as it can go), then charge up again. Once it hits 100%, you can hit the stop button.
