    Hey!

I'm thinking of getting this notebook, I just wanted to know the average battery life I can expect (under basic usage, word processing, wireless on) with the 6-cell (thats all that is available in canada right now). I can't find any stats for the quadro nvs 140m in terms of battery life.

Also I saw a couple of posts on here about an offer for a free 6-cell battery? Any more info on that?

    Thanks,
    KF

I have a 7 cell, and w/ brightness maxed, wifi on, and apps like excel and internet explorer running, i can get a cool 3 hrs. with gaming, I can get maybe 2-2.5 hrs. with brightness to the lowest and wifi on, I can get 4-4.5 hrs. It's 1 cell off from the 6 cell, and I'm not sure how much of a difference 1 cell does. I suggest getting a 7-cell, tho

The free battery is for those who had their orders from early to mid may-ish, since they had to wait quite a bit longer than usual for their laptops

no it does not. BTWi have a t61 with a 7 cell also. I get maybe about 4 hours running on low power (screen down, wifi on, cpu low) with low usage. At a balance system setting i get around 2.5 hours (dvd watching, games, etc)

ThinkVantage -> PowerManager (Fn+F3), if installed.

I have the T61 with the nvidia 140. I use a 7 cell battery and the additional media bay battery. I haven't run the battery down yet so I can't say how long I get, but it seems like I would get well over three hours hard use.

I have a 6 cell with a T61 and Quadro 140m. I'm getting about 3.5 hours of life with normal usage. Normal for me means running Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 at the same time. Developing takes a bit more strain on the hard drive during builds so I guess I could squeeze a few more minutes out of it.

    Cheers,
    Nick

Actually the battery life is pathetic. I guess its the high output CPU and HDD etc. I had an old Toshiba 1.1G P3M with Nvidia card that got about 3.5 and the battery couldnt have been more than a 4 cell.
