can the thinkpad x300 screen backlight be turned off fully?
-
You mean turn the backlight off while keeping the display on? I haven't seen any notebook recently that can do that.
-
Look on your F-keys for a combination with the Fn key. For my Asus VX2S it's F7 plus Fn that turns off the backlight.
And, SockMan, many notebooks have that option; usually the more exquisite ones such as Alienware, Clevo, and Asus' gaming lines. -
Do you mean you want to turn off the display? Just press Fn + F3 (or right click Power Manager battery icon), then select Power Off Display.
If you are talking about Macs and how you can turn the brightness all the way down to off, then no, Thinkpads cannot do that. -
yes, my macbook and macbook pro is able to do that.
ah ok. thanks guys
especially you pacman.
i was thinking maybe there is some option in the BIOS to enable that. -
Not sure about macs or X300s, but on my T61 I'm able to turn the display brightness down to 0 bars and it seems that the backlight is off.
