hmm... oh confussions why do you have to let me deal through all these...

    T60 (2613EAU) priced/configured to $ 1939
    1.83GHz core duo X1400
    2GB DDR2 SDRAM ***
    80 GB HDD
    9-cell
    4x DVD recordable
    intel pro wireless 3945 ABG
    2-year depot repair ***

*** so this is my problem, should i reduce the memory to 1GB to save $$?
also, what is the appropriate warranty(length of time, i'll stick to DEPOT)
    for this type of machine/config?

well i know it is a --thinkpad-- so i hope i would not end up spending $$$
just to make sure this thing is protected in the time of its use... i can
spend those money buying mcafee antivirus (i hate norton) if i save
from not spending alot on warranty upgrades...

    *** i will primarily be typing documents,presentations,spreadsheets,RPG
gaming if bored, editing photos just for fun, doing CAD for work in the
near future and some electronics/simulations/communications if hired...
this is gonna be a PERSONAL MACHINE that i can take with me to office
    in the future

any sites with pe-configured machines with good warranty?

2623D6U seems like a good choice if you do not need the x1400.

    Kamusta ka dyan!

Will you use it in the US mainly? Cuz if youre using it in Manila, you may have a problem with the local IBM service center since "2613" model has US warranty only. Also, if I'm not mistaken, "depot repair" does not apply overseas.

However, since price difference between IWS-model and a comparable US-only warranty model is very big ($800-$1000++), maybe its ok to just pay for repair service overseas if you really need it.

About the RAM, I recommend going for 2GB if you can afford it based on your needs! :)

musta jagged!!! hehe nice to know there's a filipino in here...

well actually... my sister's gonna be buying it for me (and send it to me here in manila by 'package' or 'padala')... i will configure one out in lenovo's site and charge it to my sister.

i am going to use it for OJT and work soon.

so how do i get the international warranty? price? the laptops sold here in the philippines is awfully high-priced... even a E1505 (T2300-1GB-100GB-HDD-GMA950) costs 100,000 pesos (or close to 1800 US dollars). low-end models of thinpads costs even more and are only offered with integrated graphics and 256MB RAM.

i really am worried about the international warranty.. as i have read in their site, the services offered can be dependent. that is... they can only do what is the best solution available... hmmm...

    what's 2623D6U ?

What's a E1505? Is it a Dell? Careful pala cuz I checked and we don't have any official Dell service centers here. Even their Asia-Pacific warranties don't include the Philippines.

I also thought before na may international warranty all Thinkpads (silly Lenovo sales rep told me there was which turns out they made a mistake). You have to check your computer's code to find out where the IWS is applicable (read the FAQs or type "IWS" on the lenovo site).

2623D6U has IWS (mostly central and south america) but not including our country. Try costcentral.com or euclidcomputers.com and enter the code so you'll see the specs of that model. Price for 2623 is very tempting however since its almost US$1000 less than a IWS model.

Btw, I have a 200764U (T2500, 14" SXGA+, X1400, 2GB RAM, IWS inc. Philippines) that's arriving next week. If any of you are interested, I can sell it at cost (inc. taxes n freight charges or 135k pesos which is about $2500). The reason is because I would like to order a T60p. :)

But if my ordered T60 arrives with no buyers and I start using it, I won't get the higher T60p anymore since hassle if I have to reinstall all my files on a new PC all over again.

Just call/txt me at 09175290712 if youre interested. It should be here by Wed or Thurs next week.

    yep.. E1505 is a dell...

woow... T2500 + 2GB RAM + X1400 = why still need T60P? hmm.. i guess you are into that fireGL card

i'll talk to my sister into it. malamang hindi papayag yun... i'll keep my fingers crossed. at least hindi na siya mahihirapang ipadala yon from new york to manila... that T60 you got has all the things i need under the hood, does it have the DVD burner+ 9 cell ?

wait... where did you ordered that? how much did you get it to (with the IWS + phil )? i want to have a machine with international warranty at hand...

and also.. where do you work? i'm thinking why would you need such powerful laptop (T60P) ?
