Recently, i want to make a presentation by using thinkpad x1 carbon, and i buy a mini displayport to vga adapter, it is used in mac computer.
For the rehearsal, i connect the x1 carbon to the our lab's projector, it works well.
However, on my big day, the x1 carbon could not connect to the projector which was provided by the conference staff. I was so sad!!
Could someone tell me the reason? i really appreciate your kind reply.

I've been using the Apple mini to VGA adapter with my X1CT, has worked flawlessly. I've yet to have to use the Function key or access the Graphics Properties, it has just auto detected and I've been off and running. So far I've only connected to LCD projectors.
