    the right screw to the ram door on my x230t is defective
    i have been able to unscrew every screw besides this 1

    forgive the poor quality
    i haven't used a web camera before

    picture of the left working screw that unscrews fine;

    picture of the right defective screw that doesn't unscrew;

    i bought a 12 piece precision screwdriver set
    none of them worked
    all the screwdrivers i had didnt work
    even the screwdrivers that worked on other screws

    thinking about going to the hardware store to remove it
    and maybe hopefully get a copy replacement of it

    dont think i'm gonna take it to a computer shop
    not sure if they know how to open it or have replacements

    i actually have a 4 year warranty on my thinkpad x230t
    so i guess i could send it back to china to have it fixed
    but it took a long time, about 2 weeks, to get here
    so i dont know if i can wait that long again just for this

    what should i do?

    Looks stripped. Could you use some needle-nose pliers to slowly unscrew it by gripping the sides? You could probably find replacements on eBay fairly easily.

    Yeah, looks like you probably stripped the screw by accident. If you aren't able to remove it, you can contact Lenovo support. Repairs are handled in the US, so it won't take 2 weeks including turnaround shipping: it should be under 1 week, unless a part is backordered (which shouldn't be the case for a simple screw).

    You hosed it up, screws in devices like laptops are often small and very snug, possibly with a thread lock. Next time you need to tackle this kind of job be sure you have the correct driver and unscrew at the correct angle.

    Had the same issue with the same screw on my x230 also, every other screw came out without a problem.

    You can remove these using a "screw remover", something like this, but with the right size.

    It'll strip the screw head but it will get it out of the hole. It once happened to mine couple years ago on a mini-pci screw that was holding the modem. Are you outside of U.S. that you have to ship it to China? I don't think it's your fault for stripping the screw. Sometimes it comes that way from the factory too.

    When I remove a tight screw using the mini screw driver kit (from $1 shop), I make sure the screw driver is exact size with the screw, then apply hard downward pressure while turning the screw driver using a nose pliers to grab the screw driver's body and then make the turn.
