hi i have thinkpad x300 it is only 2 weeks old, i have 2 freezes recently.

first one is just when i was entering sleep, (no program running), then blank screen then reboot and says windows did not shut down properly, select safe mode, normal startup, etc.

just now (i'am typing on my desktop) when i was browsing opera the screen just suddenly froze, nothing happens since...

when freezing happens i have zonealarm 8 (latest version), and opera, and win live messenger 2009 running.

what do you think i should do?

btw, should i disable windows anti-spyware real time scanning when using zonealarm security suite? im not sure if the windows anti-spyware disable itself.

    edit:
is this most likely hardware or software?

is there like a lenovo pc diagnostic utility? PC doctor?
do i need to run it at start-up to get the most accurate result?
how do i go about doing this?

check the tool manager and test your hardware. before that, are all ur drivers installed? check your device manager. that might fix the issue. if there is a hardware curruption, call up 1800-ibm-serv and tell em what the problem is. 2 week old x300 should have warrenty so good luck.

EDIT:not sure about x300(assuming xp) but for my T60 its under maintaince tools and its powered by PC Doctor.
if you dont have it, you can download/install form lenovo driver site.

    thanks for the reply daniel

i tested my PC with PC doctor 5 when i first get my computer no problem.
i tested them last night again, no problem found, all passed.
is this test accurate? shouldnt be run on hardware boot?

come to think of it, yes i did have hardware warning on device manager.
i think it says something about driver not found or something.
when i first got my computer i googled it, and it seems normal. so i ignored it.

    could this cause the problem?
ill check it when i get home.

just a quick google, i think it was:
"6T04 Network Adapter" with with triangular yellow exclamation mark next to it, telling the driver not working properly.
