Hi, I downgraded my X61 to XP using a recovery CD/DVD set. Everything went well except the mic - when I used external mic, it simply didn't work - the sound replay works. When I used internal mic, it worked but the speaker will produce an extremely high sound sometimes together with mic being used.

Anyone has the same problem? I have already downloaded the latest driver for Audio. Any solutions? Thanks a lot.

Update: I did one more test - I used a headset for sound, and used internal mic, it worked. When I then switched to the external mic, the mic/recording didn't work (the mic works in another machine).
