    Hi everybody,

I’m sorry for the intrusion, but I would like to buy this laptop and I’ve got some problem in understanding its video resolution…
I need to have a resolution MORE than 1024x768.

From the website, if I customize the model, I have the following option with the processor Intel® Core™ 2 Duo L7500 LV:
    1) 12.1" XGA TFT, 2x3 UltraConnect II antenna
    2) 12.1" UltraLight XGA TFT, 2x3 UltraConnect II antenna

If I read the “help me decide” guide from the Lenovo website, it stands:
UltraLight XGA TFT: Ultra Thin Screen w/ Standard Extended Graphics Array
    Resolution: 1600×1200

So this will be perfect for me.

Moreover, if I choose the processor Intel® Core™ 2 Duo L7700 LV, now I’ve got just one NEW option:
12.1" XGA TMD Ultralight, 2x3 UltraConnect II antenna

Note that is no TFT, but it is TMD. Of course on the website there aren’t explanation about this TMD!

Please, can anyone tell me if this notebook really have a resolution of 1600x1200?

The X61s screen resolution is 1024x768, but you can hook up an external monitor with resolution of 1600x1200. If you need more resolution, the X61 Tablet does offer a SXGA+ screen.

I got about 6.5 hours on the X61s review unit I had last year with the eight cell battery.

X61 with 4 cell enhanced... If I boot into XP, with wifi on I get a little less than 2 hours. If I optimize everything and run in maximize battery with no radios on I can get approximately 2.5 hours. IF I watch a video or access the hard drive more than normal, I can get as low as 1 hour.

So the range is between 1 - 2.5 hours. Realistically I'd count on 1.5 hours out of my 4 cell.

I'd use my 8 cell if it didn't stick out. It really is a big difference once you've held the X61 with the 4 cell.

It sticks out, but x61s still has a small footprint. If I bought one, I'd definitely get the 8 cell. The battery acts as a very natural handle.

Battery life depends on a bunch of factors. According to Lenovo, "Slim 4-cell: up to 3.5 hr; 8-cell: up to 9.0 hr; 8-cell and Extended Life Battery: up to 12.5."

    Thank you ZaZ!

So... here we go again... if I look at the ThinkPad X61 Tablet, I’ve got the two following options:
    1) 12.1" SuperView WVA SXGA+ TFT, 2x3 UltraConnect II antenna
    2) 12.1" MultiView + MultiTouch WVA XGA TFT

If I’ve understood well, the first option has got a resolution of 1400x1050 and it will be ok, but is not touch screen, is it? I mean, I can always use the pen as input?

The second one seems perfect for a tablet laptop but it has got 1024x768 and it is really espensive (you have to add almost $500 and the resolution will be decreased...).

I still looking for a Thinkpad with at least SXGA+ and 12”…

Fluid, don't take this the wrong way but your questions really belong in their own threads. Highjacking threads is considered a no-no in forums.

I have an x61s and I have both the 4-cell slim and 8 cell.

Approx times for 4 cell slim / 8 cell, in hours:

Full power mode - 100% screen brightness, 1800MHz processor speed, doing some solidworks 3D modeling, with wi-fi on: (<1hr / ~4hr)

Normal battery mode - 30% screen brightness, 800MHz processor speed, MS Office stuff, wi-fi on: (1.75hr / 6hr)

Super battery saver mode - minimum screen brightness, undervolted 600MHz, display set to power off after 30 sec, MS Office stuff, no wi-fi: (2.75hr / 8.75hr)

    Mac

How can you tell what processor speed the laptop is running at? In the power manager settings I have the cpu speed set to adaptive when using battery power. Is there a way to tell what speed it's currently running at?
